Compute target
A registered execution surface (usually a developer's machine running the desktop client) that the control plane sends commands to.
A compute target is a specific machine with the desktop client installed and a registered identity. The web control plane sends desktop.command envelopes to compute targets via the cloud relay; each command dispatches into the target's localhost gateway.
